Costa Rica is a republic on Central American isthmus 10 degrees north of the equator sharing borders with Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the east and south, the Pacific to the west and the Caribbean Sea to the east.
Costa Rica has a tropical and subtropical climate. Its dry season in most places is between December and April, and the rainy season from May to November, though on the Caribbean coast December is always wettest. Cost Rica has a population of just over 4 million. Whilst Costa Rica has only 0.1% of the worlds landmass, it contains 5% of the worlds biodiversity.
